Senior Network Support Consultant (m/w)

About the Job:
The Senior Network Support Consultant proactively monitors the operation of our client's network within a specified territory to ensure that we are utilizing our resources to their fullest extent in order to meet customer requirements and ensure value for our network partners. The current opening is for a Senior Consultant in client’s Munich, Germany office focusing on our network in the EMEA geography. The position also serves as an escalation point for Network Account Managers, Service Performance, and other Network Operations groups.
 
About the Team:
The primary responsibility of The Network Support Group is to ensure continued successful relationships with 1200+ Accelerated Network Partners (AANPs) of our client, other Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and to support Managed Content Distribution Networks (MCDN) for customers with whom our client deploys equipment. In addition, the Network Support Group works with and supports the efforts of Network Account Managers, Customer Account Managers, Network Infrastructure Engineers and other engineering groups to deliver on aggressive Network Infrastructure goals and ensure optimal performance across the network.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Network Support Group point person for the EMEA territory, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of Internet infrastructure across the region.
  • Proactively monitor the operation of our platform in EMEA countries, ensuring that we're delivering the best possible performance at the lowest possible cost.
  • Work cross-functionally and directly with client's Network Partners, ISPs, and MCDN customers to troubleshoot and resolve network and performance issues.
  • Manage escalations from Service Performance, Network Account Managers, Network Operations, and other groups.
  • Maintain group and individual ticket queues.
  • Participate in event traffic management planning sessions with Network Account Managers.
  • Propose tools, automation, and processes to facilitate the role.
  • Analyze and report on trends affecting the network.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Networking, Routing, and Internet Technology.
  • Solid understanding of Internet Protocols including BGP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
  • 3+ years of experience in customer or partner support or account management.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be action-oriented, capable of independently solving complex technical problems, and able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience with Linux and SQL are preferred.
  • Familiarity with language(s) of the EMEA region a plus
